I need 1010 diesel engine block or complete engine.

Post by Hollow1955 » Sun Jun 20, 2010 4:51 pm

I have a 1963 1010 diesel engine with cracks between the oring seal area in the lower block area. Engine runs good but is now leaking water into oil. Has anyone had any luck repairing these cracks or tried the liquid glass that you pour into the coolant to seal these cracks. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or a engine block for sale. Thanks

I do not believe in snake oil, BUT, here is a true story I seen with my own eyes. Friend brought me a 2010 with the same problem. I chased down parts, and gave him a price, he said he could not do it then and would have to wait. The next day he came over with a product called Blue Devil I believe. I tried to talk him out of it and he said he had no alternative and knew he would have to rebuild anyway. We did follow the instructions to a tee and this is the third summer and I still have not got the job and he is still running the machine...Paul

I know there are some different products out there, and have heard of some people getting good results. You have very little to lose by trying one of them, I would stop at an engine shop and ask what they use. I know one of the shop's I use here recommends a cerimac seal type product, don't remember the name. They run it in a lot of race engines.
