Is it possible to repair a 420 sprocket with a ring with the teeth on a sprocket that is worn , or is it necessary to buy a new sprocket?

In that case, the only way to repair a worn sprocket is to replace with a new one? or can the be welded up and repaired with some grinding of the worn teeth. Is there a jig for such a repair job? John B
