winch control valve on jd 3315

i have a friend tryin to mount a jd 3315 winch on his 350b. its an early one with dry clutchs and power steering. he wants to know where the control valve mounts. the book is showin it on the front of the winch, but he says there isnt enough room under the seat. does it mount on the winch, or somewheres else? thanks
