Not a crawler but a question about the 1010

Post by ryan_marine » Mon Jan 30, 2006 10:00 pm

What were the hydralic pressure for the 1010? Were they 2000# or same as the johnny poppers? Or were some made with each?

Thanks

I am sure they are higher than the two cylinders, but not sure if they went to 2000. It could be, the rest of the new gen stuff did.

While on the subject, is the hyd sys. open or closed center for the 1010, I can not find this in the service manual. I found an off brand backhoe real cheap and it is set up for closed center. I wanted to confirm before I tried to hook up the the 1010.

Pretty sure that 1010 and 2010 were open center, but I could be wrong.

Probably closed center the open center did not start showing up untill the 310,410 backhoes in1975 I think you need a veriable displacement pump for opencenter systems?I don t think the small dozers had this till the G series loaders in 1987so your backhoe should fit right on Most of these old deeres did not have enough pump capacity so it might be a bit slow My 1979, 550 dozer got a bigger pump for the back hoe and I still was not able to multyfunction the hydraulics but the blade was lightning fast I guess that meens that hoes are specked to there pumps so the 1010 may be a slow supplying the oil But if the price is right it is batter than shovleing!!digitup

Variable displacement pumps are used on closed center system, gear type is most common on open center. On the ag tractors, Deere changed most of the larger row crop tractors to closed center in 1961 with the introduction of the 10 series. Given the cost of the closed center system, I don't believe they used it on anything smaller than 3010. Even today, the 5000 series is open center while the 6000's on up are closed center. One exception may be the Advantage series tractors that use a load sensing open center system.
