440 IC compression

I'm new to this board and have a rebuild project beginning soon. I checked the compression this morning on my 1958 440IC. Both cylinders at 60 psi... I saw that it should be around 120 according to some posts on this site. What's acceptable? I guess I'll have a ring job to do...

60 is too low yes. You may or may not get very good results from rings, these engine are normally quite tapered in about the middle of the bore. I usually see .020-.040 of egg shape to them.
