Steering clutch fiber discs

Post by Dana » Wed Oct 20, 2010 8:12 pm

Finally got the left side finals off and removed and cleaned up the fiber discs and steels. Question: these discs were new seven years ago, hardly used at all since then, but sat for those next seven years. I was able to clean up the discs to what I believe is satisfactory, but the steels are slightly pitted, but dont look bad at all. How important is the condition of these parts. Nothing but new is pristene.

I wouldn't worry about a bit of pitting. I have a lot of pitting on my MC steel discs and they still work just fine.
