I just found this group today and this is my first posting.
I have had the 1010 for a while and it has been sitting.
I was fixing it up when health issues got in the way. I put in new clutch packs and brakes, the under carriage is good and I'm sure the tracks are now pretty stiff by now.
Anyway I'm thinking it might be good to at least pull the head off the engine to see what that looks like before I go too much further.
Are usable 1010 Diesel engines hard to find if I need to replace the engine?
Thanks,
Bob Bailey

Bob,
On a 1010 or 2010 engine when Lavoy says trashed I think he means non repairable holes or cracks in the block casting. Since this is a deck plate linered engine if the block casting is not cracked or holed it is rebuildable most likely. Expensive but then again what wortwhile isn't!
