Why doesn't yellow paint cover well?I was told to use a yellow tinted primer.Anyone have any tricks?

Yellow is tough especially the newer and brighter yellow. Aerosols make it harder to get coverage without runs without a zillion coats. brushing works well for coverage as does a slightly orangish industrial tint like older case. The primer sounds like a good idea.

I gave up on the Deere stuff and got some oil base marine enamel mixed up. The stuff goes on really thick so hiding is not much of an issue.
The color that these would have been painted for industrial use is Old Construction Yellow which has more of an orange tint to it than the newer color.
