I have a 59 440ic and the other week i got on it after a couple months and went to move it and the left tract would not pull. after getting it in the garage and pulled apart, i found that the main drive shaft that goes into the rear and the other end drives the fiber disc was sheared off also called final drive?. i have not idea when this happened. it ran fine when i parked it. and when i started it up and went to move it i did not hear anything break. but then when i went to turn right the left track would not pull. again i never heard anything break?? what could cause this? a year ago i put all new clutches in both sides, and worked great all summer. where can i find another shaft to replace it. thanks for the help brad

That I would have to check on, there are two different drive hubs. Do you know what your serial number is?

Lavoy, the serial number is 448076 a late 1958 and i think the part numbers out of the parts book are M2378T is the hub and M1635T for the shaft. do you have the ball bearing and 2 snap rings that go on the shaft as well or do i have to go through JD for that stuff? thanks brad

Okay, that should be the early hub. I should have everything on hand except maybe the snap rings. Shoot me an e-mail, and I will check for sure tomorrow and let you know.
