Reverser question JD 420

Post by mc_mike » Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:00 am

If you remove a reverser from a transmission would the input shaft of the transmission mount up to the standard coupler on the clutch shaft from a non reverser equipped transmission? I guess what I am asking did JD use a different transmission input shaft for reverser equipped crawlers versus non-reverser equipped? I know the shaft from the clutch to the transmission is different, I am talking about the shaft in the tranny. Please let me know.

Input shaft is the same, you will need the standard prop shaft, and the standard front bearing quill to convert to non-reverser.
