final drives and track pad interchangeability

Post by fruitcakesa » Mon Jan 09, 2012 12:13 pm

Will track pads for 350 and 400 crawlers fit a 1010 chain?
They all have offset 4 bolt mount

Also are the 350 final drives the same as a 1010?

My understanding is that the 4 bolt triple bar pads for the loaders are interchangeable between a 1010, 2010, and straight 350 with the 4 bolt rails. I don't know about later 350s or 400 crawlers.

My understanding is that final drives from a 350 will not interchange with earlier crawlers.

I saw an ad for final drives to fit 1010 and 350
They had sprockets attached and they looked like my 1010 sprockets with 23 teeth and 9 bolts {6+3]
Hmmm...

Looking at part numbers for the final drive housing and drive shafts between the 1010s and 350s, they appear to be different final drives. However it seems some parts, such as the bull gear, are the same between the 1010s and early 350s. thus it seems it is not entirely clear-cut.

Lavoy, Jdemaris, or JWB Construction would know for sure. If I am right (that can be a big IF  ) it wouldn't be the first time that an ad for older crawler parts overstated interchangeability. the final you saw was probably off of a 1010 and the sellers said it could be put on a 350.

Parts Interchangeability

Post by JWB Contracting » Tue Jan 10, 2012 2:59 pm

Tigerhaze,

I am not that good on the 1010's.

I am only 35, I just act like I know what I am talking about. My main occupation is accounting, I am a Chartered Accountant and work for a pipeline construction company.

My obsession with Deere started at age 5, when I first got to run one by myself.

This past weekend I delved into a winch for a 350 and will continue my schooling on the coming weekend after studying my technical manual at nights this week. The pump pressures check out but the brake is not releasing for free wheeling, so I believe my problem is either the valve or the master cylinder. My dad had fixed this winch up a few years ago and now after mounting it its not 100%. He is the one with the real technical experience and rebuilts components during the week and we do the installs together on the weekends.

The good thing about this site, is there are many that have extensive knowledge on a few models and will share tips and tricks with those that need it.

I am going to get the numbers off the finals to compare them to mine.
