1963 1010 crawler coolant system parts

Post by Fitz4227 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 4:46 pm

Hello everyone. I just got a 1963 1010 crawler loader from my father, it appears to be leaking antifreeze from the lower radiator hose, which is a hose with a T in it. Can anyone tell me if these hoses are readily available from the dealer?

Yes the hoses are available.
You may have to go to a industrial supplier and not an ag dealer.

I've got two 1010s and also worked on many. Never seen one yet with a T in the radiator hose.

Early 1010 takes a T14949T that goes on the radiator, then there's a steel metal tube, and then another piece of hose # T13762T

Late 1010 takes a # T16840T to the bottom of the radtator, then a cast-iron elbow, and then another hose # T17716T.

well I ordered the hose from the dealer, no T what i think I figured out is that this gas engine 1010 has a heater, electric plug goes to unit then a line from the center of the lower radiator hose goes to the heater unit, then another heater goes to the thermostat area, this hose is probably special to go with the heater, worse case if i cannot get a hose, i will have to take the heater out of the system i guess.

Sounds like someone added an aftermarket radiator hose heater.

evidently it must be aftermarket, will probably just remove it, as i do not need a heater here in Va.
