tooth pins

Post by jb660r » Tue May 08, 2012 3:27 pm

I have searched, and searched, and I cant find the answer.
The question is, are the pins that are supposed to hold the bucket teeth on the "tooth lugs" (I dont know what the proper name is) actually pins that I should be able to pound or press out, or bolts? I hammered a little but decided to stop in case "the lugs" are threaded, and they didn't move. Any help will be appreciated.
I'm sure I will have a ton of questions the more I get working on this ol' beast.

i think those are typically roll pins that you pound out.
they can be real tight,,, clean and soak for a few days then using a fullsized(i think it was a 3/8) punch and about 3# hammer, i was able to budge them...then they came out.
440icd/602/8a,,440icd/831/ripper,,440icd/831/3pt.,misc. 440 parts, i have 5 of these now, but i can stop anytime
