MC, 40, 420 Quill Question...

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a M945T upper Quill off an MC or early 40 final drive and a M2363T upper Quill off a late 40 or 420 final? I have them side by side and cannot figure out what the difference is. Since they are different casting number I assume I must be missing something. Thanks!

Race diameter is different.
