steering problems

Post by silerra » Mon Apr 17, 2006 8:38 am

I just replaced the clutchs, plates, presure plate and all bearings on the right side of my 1010. the presure plate was calapsed and that was the reason for the tear down. its all back together and working fine (right side) now when I brake the right side the left side does not drive like it should, starts to move and then quits moving on that side and some times it doesnt drive at all on the left side.I checked the steering clutch adj and I have very little movement for the throw out bearing shaft adj, maybe 1/16 to 1/8 inch. Im figuring the clutch is probably gone and the presure plate fingers are out due to that and thats why I have not much movment. does this sound right. ????

problem fixed, clutch drum and disc just needed cleaned up after setting for a long time, clutch plates and disc were binding up in the drum causing it to slip.
