Is there a plate that covers up the hole where the engine driven oil pump would go? I do not have a pump on the crawler and now that i got it started, i can see a little oil that has splattering from that area.
thank you
Brian

I have never been into a vertical two cylinder John Deere engine but I thought the oil pump is in the pan and has a gear on it to drive off the camshaft. Then the distributor rotary shaft fits in a slot in the end of the oil pump shaft so it can turn.

He may be talking about the hydraulic pump at the front of the engine. Which has 2 bearings and the connections for the intake and hydraulic out.

grin, didnt think you meant the engine oil pump.
I think that part will be a junkyard item. Lavoy might have it. (the whole pump)
