Hi
My name is Frank and I have owned a JD-40C Crawler loader for around 4 years. I have not had any problems with it till now. While moving the machine, I stepped down on the main clutch pedal and it did not return up. I can pull it up with my hands BUT it is very hard to do, it is not like a return spring is broken. I have had people tell me it is the pedal shaft frozen to the case, or, pull the motor the bearing is bad on the clutch. PLEASE help I need some advice what to do, Thanks

Not sure on the 40C, but 420C on up to 440C has a mouse cover on the bell housing. Open that cover and flash a light in there to find the throw out bearing. The grease zerk should be on the side where you can snake your grease gun hose in there and put a few pumps. Not too much or you create another issue, grease on the clutch plates.
