Service Info

Post by Beauman Putter » Wed Aug 15, 2012 10:17 am

I am new to this forum and new to JD crawlers. The first thing I like to do is get all the info on a machine. Where is the best place to get manuals on theJD 440ICD. Such as operators, service, parts and manuals on diesel engine. 2 cyl GM. 2-53.

You do realize this site sells parts right? Here is the link to some of what Lavoy has in stock.

Beauman probably needs the manuals first before he identifies parts to order

Here is a helpful discussion on manuals:

(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment

I was brown nosing to Lavoy in case you missed it Tiger. I am not going to make that mistake again. Posting links of competition. From what I understand I almost became the first person Lavoy has ever banned. Image

I thought he almost banned you for using an (oversized) avatar of a wheel tractor on a Crawler Messageboard. [Although it is a very nice looking tractor.]
JD440-ICD loader; JD440-IC bulldozer; JD440-ICD backhoe; JD440-I backhoe; JD440-I tractor; + five recumbent JD440-ICs

I think we all have to some degree been unintentionally guilty of that. It's easy to forget that parts are a large part of Lavoy's business and th helpful nature of people on this board in responding to poster's inquiries about local parts suppliers or salvage yards leads to mentioning others in the business.

I think the key point is to ask Lavoy first about parts- he is honest about letting you know if he can't get something or if it would be too costly after shipping from him. if all of us do some business with him, it helps support this board which is a gold mine of information.
