Paint colors?
Any of you guys have a PPG or DuPont paint code for the JD industrial yellow used in the 50's?

Is there a reason you want to use that brand. The factory color is still available through deere. It's called "Old Construction Yellow." I can't remember the part number right now.
That paint is supposedly made by Valspar. I used 4 gallons painting mine and it did pretty good. The first coat didn't cover well but if you spray a heavy second coat on when the first is just starting to tack up it covers nicely.

The Old Construction Yellow is indeed produced by Valspar. I ordered a case and it came in a box from Valspar.
They say it is a "different formula" than the Valspar that TSC WAS selling but I doubt it.
Unfortunately, TSC has stopped selling it.
The only problem is the price. The dealer pays what the retail price should be and then they mark it up where ever they want.
Last can I bought from a dealer was $14.00.
Not going to pay that.

I can believe that there might be a formulation difference, that is not all the uncommon. I have encountered this over they years. One manufacturer may make a give product for several different people, but often times, buyer has there own specs they want it built to.

Lavoy,
I completely agree. My comments are based on usage.
The TSC stuff looks, smells, flows, and acts exactly like the higher priced stuff. If I was going for top show quality, I would pay for the very best (not always the highest priced) materials.
I am sure there could be some spec variances that maybe relate to quality, just not enough to justify an almost double price.
I look at some of this similar to the way I do restaurant prices. I go along with paying more for better quality, atmosphere, etc. However, it all ends up in the exact same place so I have to draw the line somewhere.
