JD 1010 C Crawler Diesel

Post by Ronk » Mon May 01, 2006 7:16 am

I have a 1010C Crawler diesel with a bucket on the front. I just discovered this morning that the radiator fan blows air out through the radiator instead pulling air into it. I removed the fan & it's a heavy (yellow painted) 6 blade fan - looks like it belongs here. looking at the radiator from the front of the tractor, the fan rotates clockwise.

I also have one injector that leaks diesel fuel from the large cap on the top - Are there rebuilding kits for generators???

Pusher fans were an option, guys like them in the hot weather. Individual parts for generators are avaible from Deere or any good auto parts store. Ken Warner at Classic Generator in Midlothian, Texas has rebuild kits for most generators. His website is classicgenerator.com.
Sound like a bad gasket on the injector.

Thanks much for the answers - never realized it was OK to push heated air from the engine out through the radiator - I guess since it's only going 1 mph instead of 50, there wouldn't be a lot of air pushing into the radiator
