I am looking at purchase of a 1960 JD 430. The front idlers are worn thin and the rails look like they have seen their better days. The rear sprockets and bushings don't look too bad. My question is, what other models will the track parts fit from? Will the 40 idlers and tracks fit on a 420 and 430? Will I have to jump up to a 350 track and sprockets? How about rebuilding the idlers with flat bar to add some life to them? I hate to put a lot of money into the tracks because my bank roll is not unlimited. The owner says they had trouble with tracks coming off.
Thanks in advance.

JD430 tracks
Give a man a fish and he will work another day, teach a man to fish and he may never work again!
Rails are different, pads are the same. Front idlers will interchange. If the tracks are coming off, I would bet pins and bushings, right now an expensive proposition.

Lavoy, Did you ever have any luck with re-producing the aftermarket pins and bushings?Lavoy wrote:Rails are different, pads are the same. Front idlers will interchange. If the tracks are coming off, I would bet pins and bushings, right now an expensive proposition.

Got two quotes, one was for more money than Deere, other was 10,000 units combined, no packaging, no time frame, no guarantee, send us your money up front, and we will let you know.
I have a local guy looking at it, but everybody is so busy around here, no one needs to look at small orders like me.

Pins & Bushings
Hi Lavoy. Are these P&B's for MC's & 40C's, or for 420C-440C's? I THINK I recall 40C type were still available but not for the 420's. That may not still be the case. I'm hoping my "new" 420C won't need them for a while.

This is for 420-early 2010, but they are current from Deere as well. Right now, that is our only option unfortunately.
