# of pad bolts on a 420 4 roller?

Post by tbird505 » Thu Jun 08, 2006 7:24 pm

I just bought a set of tracks off from a 420 4 roller on ebay and noticed that they have 4 bolts per pad and the original ones on the machine had only 2 bolts per pad. were some made with 4 bolts? will they fit my 420? THANKS PAUL

4 bolt rails are 1010 rails. They will fit, and if you look in a 420 parts book that has a later revision date, they even show up in there. They are the same pitch and bushing size as a 420, so they will work, just are not correct from a restoration standpoint. In terms of function, no problem at all. Only catch might be if they are 350 rails, then they have a larger bushing, and will raise hell with the sprocket unless you re-rim it.
