Hi,
They work just like having a full set of chains on. Except they don't fly off and remove the fender. It is really neat being able to put the chains on and off by flipping a switch. I have been using them since the 80s. All the fire and rescue rigs in New York had them back then. When I moved to NC in 94, they came with me.
Of course, they are still chains on a wheel, and not tracks, which is what that other post has.

Maybe. We could meet up in Iowa and race to the West coast.
It seems that since this video, that the two brothers who designed and built this machine have entered into a R&D relationship with the government. That means that we will never be able to afford what these vehicles will cost going forward. My 420 hauls a** anyway!

They had a TV show for a couple years on TV, kind of a let down, so were they. Spent lots of time on stupid projects that generated no income (like a floating snowmobile) instead of focusing on the business to make a living.
Once the show cancelled, never heard about them again. The video is from 2006.

ya know you guys could always come down here and warm up.
the only ice i see is with whiskey. or in the chest of beer.
you can even work on my crawler, the metal is probably at least 50* or warmer,,, no gloves needed.
