Fuel Gauge on a 1010

Post by CSW » Tue Nov 18, 2014 6:46 am

I ordered the aftermarket gauges on ebay that are from India. All seem to work ok but Im having trouble with the fuel gauge. Im guessing that the tank sender needs to match the new gauge am I correct? has anyone ordered these off ebaybefore? If so, do you know the name of the specific manufacturer and If they sell tank sensors?

Have you pulled the sender and checked the float and the ohms to see if it is working ? or do you even have one?

Hi,

Yeah. The ohms of the variable resistor in the sender does have to match up with the coil resistance in the gauge to be accurate.

Resistance is Futile (probably). Usually offshore gauges don't get it right.

Of course, my 420 has a gauge which always works. A stick! ;)
