While examining My 1950 MC, I discovered that 4 bolts are missing from the left side of the final drive. Two long bolts in the back as well as two bolts which are above the inside access cap for bearing and nut access. I believe the best way to proceed is to remove the final drive after removing the track and sprocket. This way, I can work on final drive assembly inside . I still have to support the left side so I can rotate the left track to access the master-links. If anyone has any shortcuts or suggestions, please feel free. Even if this advice can direct me to a place near Canisteo, NY where I can get these repairs done. Thanks for all of your help and I did get the repair manual from Jensales which contains all specs and procedures associated with this 1950 2 cylinder, 3 roller mc.

I've found, locating the master link about 2 track pads past the bottom of the drive sprocket works best when your putting it back together. Isn't there a John Deere dealer right near there? gregjo1948
