I'm looking to buy a crawler 2010, however oil is spewing out of the oil vent. The dip stick reads that it is way overfull but the oil shows no signs of antifreeze, water or transmission fluid. Is there any explanation why this could happen other than the owner somehow over filled the machine?
thanks+

Could be filling up with fuel. Could be bad injectors, bad rings.
My 2010 always reads a little over full because the spin-on oil filter drains back into the pan when the engine is shut down.

I doesn't seem to have any fuel in the oil either. The oil is dark black and thick no signs of contamination.

Have him drain the oil back to the right amount and let it run for a good while and listen for noise that shouldn't be there then check the oil again.

Would not be the first motor over filled with oil .If it is black change it or make an offer damnd cheep I would say If it is that full dont run it long before you change it Too much oil can actualy be hard on a motor.Digitup.
