2010 loader (820) question

Post by vailvalley59 » Tue Jan 06, 2015 9:07 am

Should the oil level for the 820 loader be checked when the motor is running or when it is stopped? I do not have any operator's manual for this--thanks

Two observations on my part:

-If not running, it is a little easier to check exact level on dipstick as when running you get some splashing effects
-When running, it is easier to tell if you have water in the fluid as it will turn it into a frothy milky color. If you check when cold and not running, the water separates from the oil and is not as easy to see.
