Hi,

I ran a 435 haying for years. The only way I know of to make one quiet is to run it out of fuel....

They make a lot of noise on both ends (intake and exhaust). I was never sure if I was running a tractor or a vacuum cleaner.

So, you would need a big muffler. An oval one would give better visibility. It is what we used on the 435. Still, it was twice as loud as the 1520 that replaced it with half the size muffler....

I have a 6V53 (the loudest JIMMY built) in a truck (i feel your pain) and run a 760 JD scraper (you sit right next to the engine and not far from the exhaust it is quite loud) when running the scraper i use an up-close and personal muffler like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/TASCO-3006-Ear- ... 4ad6d6ee54
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper

The oval mufflers are better, but you still will be kind of loud.

ya i'm thinking a big oval with an extended stack to get that noisy outlet up away from me, and then a raincap,
i'll probably be cussing it if i ever snag it.
(how many guys have done that?)
dont want to choke out the 2 stroke so just how much muffler can a guy put on these?
any of you guys running a bigger-than-stock muffler?
