Wow, color me amazed! I bought a $6.95 choke cable from the old fleet farm. I figgured I would have to modify stuff to get it to work but the threads were the same pitch on the shaft of the choke knob!!! woweeee!
Just took the old knob and cable out of the cast, popped off the carb, removed all the old unclefied, jury rigged wirestuff. Slapped the new cable in and I was done!

I agree.
I am used to "direct fit" requiring modifications. Even working with brand new cars, some mods need to be made as required as per "engineering information". I work on street rods, hot rods and tractors too all needing some tweaking here, welding and cutting there.
Its just, well... SHOCKING that it went smoothly.
I hope everybody's repairs on their crawlers go just as smoothly.
