Thinking about an MC Crawler

Post by Corbinstein » Mon Mar 23, 2015 12:49 pm

I got a shot at buying an MC that's been sitting for a few years...
Motor might not be stuck, it's moving a little back and forth.

What inspections do I need to do, before buying?

What instructions for those inspections do we have?

It's parked on the side of a hill and obviously hasn't run for at least 5 or 10 years. Antifreeze and Oil appear ok.

Essentially, I'm a Newbie needing help...

I'll take some PM's if necessary.

Main things to check on MC:
Bottom rollers, very often completely shot, and no replacement are available. Front idler the same.
Sprocket hubs loose on the axle, also hard to come by.
Make sure side frame are no wrecked where they bolt to the track clutch housings, should be two lug nut looking nuts on each side.
