72 views and noone can say anything? whats the deal with the different frount idlers? is there floor boards in mcs? Is adjusting the clutches the sames as 440s?

welp got here torn down to the transmission to bell housing need some steering clutch adjustment and bushings made the main pressure plate needs replaced and main throughout bearing as and i think where going to throw a quick coat a paint when going back together and it should look fine. will post pics soon

It just needs a bit of superglue on that one clutch finger and it will be as good as new.
No trees were hurt in the creation of this message.
But, many electrons were terribly bothered.

Yep its one of those thing that let me down out in the middle of the woods if i hadnt pulled the engine how hard are the final part to get cause on shaft has some play in it

the correct clutch adjusting tool is a must for new clutch work, as they must be adjusted after bolting up to flywheel
Lavoy (Administrator here) has them
1957 420C four roll since 1982

Both shafts on the final drive have shims to adjust them, you might be able to just reset the preload.

We have the adjustment tool. Was hopeing that the dogs would work off the pressure plate in the finals but I need to look

So i didnt have a pressure plate. Whats the part number on a new one? and i heard the m tractor 40c -440 gas pressure plates will work? is that true? i need the truth in can find anything for sure in writing.

Also can you still get seals and stuff for the finals? going to tear into both to make sure there good cause there both leaking oil.

so is there any seals in the rollers and frount idlers of the mc? by looking at the parts breakdown i dont see any. Also i ordered a pressure plate tonight going to you the steering handle/brake band shaft outta our parts 440 to replace our cause it the shaft thats wore on the handles not so much the bushings.

Well got it tore down going to need all new transmission bearings(or a good old one) center torque tube and final bearing main shaft for either 40 or mc cause i got one of each. Someone used extra bearing for a spacer
