There are a couple discussions in the main part of the discussion board on export JD crawlers- I just posted about this a month or two back for someone else that had an export JD 350.
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment

SN Difference Spotted

Hi,

Interesting. I was fluffing about ebay this morning looking at things 350, and tripped across an auction for a 350C. Nothing odd about that, but what is odd is the SN tag pictured. I reads like a modern tag, not one from the mid 80s. Here is what it read:

*T0350CE721784*
CRAWLER DOZER /85

All is in raised lettering, except the /85, which is done with a metal stamp.

The S/N is below that for a 350D, but in the 7xxxxx range they went to for the 350D, not the 393401 and up range for a 1985 350C.

As I said: Interesting.

Was this a running change in the S/N scheme or could this be a ReLife unit? I would think a ReLife unit would say so, but may be they just used an obviously different S/N to denote one. I really do not know, having never seen a ReLife unit in person.

But, the listing says this was a Federal forestry unit, and those were prime for having been passed through the ReLife program. Listing also says it was refurbished, but by someone other than Deere. Did Deere have contract refurbish houses within the ReLife program? Again, possible and I do not know. Heck, I feel lucky that I even heard of ReLife at all when it was going on....

Edit: Looking at the pics some more, I have some doubts this was ReLife. Too many little things I would expect to be renewed are not. Probably just the things listed as having been redone, were redone, by the shop listed. It still leaves us with the S/N difference. Somewhere along the way, that was changed for the C....

So, some food for thought to go along with the morning coffee after the donut is gone.... :P

I think I have a 350B and I found this thread, I am looking for the serial number plate, I have looked all over the seat support by where my right leg would be when operating the dozer, nothing. Where my left leg would be is an hour meter. I can not find any evidence there was ever a plate there.

Am I missing something? Is there anywhere else the serial number would be?

read your post for 2015 where you stated you had a 350c and was looking for info on the year. I also have a 350AD crawler, very unique with a cab, serial # 350AD140570L, diesel and with "made in Germany" on tag. Still trying to decode # to determine correct year mfg. Yes, I have a 350 that was made in Germany, Bosch injector pump, getting the pump fixed now.

Hello to everyone, I'm new to this site but wondering if anyone can help me identify a machine? I believe it is a straight 350, 3 cyl gas motor and only has 4 bottom rolls. The frame# is 4F1C 0460461 and motor plate# is 41TF. 059070T. I'm not sure if it's a good machine to try to save? (Collectable and Rarity)

That is really up to you and what you want it for. It's not rare, collectable is in the eye of the beholder, but there are many less 4 rollers than 5 rollers, and less gas than diesel.
