Lavoy...Can you help me ???

Post by surferpete » Wed Nov 05, 2008 4:28 pm

Hi Lavoy, I just received my 450C at my lot over the weekend, and boy do I love it. My younger brother is a Local 4 operator, and has been showing me the safety, and proper operation of the equipment.
I really need some help replacing some of the gauges I have on the machine. I need a new hour meter (located @ the area under the seat), a new pyrometer (measures the tranny temp.), and a volt meter as well. My light switch knob is totally worn..so I should replace that too. I just reinstalled the old rubber cap on the starter button...and it "dressed up" the whole panel completely. Please get back in touch at your conveinience to find me the best price on these parts. Thanks again for all you do on this site Lavoy....you are appreciated more than you will ever know...especially to the guys like me who have never really been involved or had the "know how" when it comes to heavy equipment. Thanks again....... Pete

Pete,
Only source I know of for gauges that would look original is Deere, and even then, they may sub into a new style face. You may be able to go to a Stewart Warner dealer and find some replacements that work, especially if they are mechanical gauges. If the tach is a standard diameter, I have found Stewart Warner tachs in the past to put in the two cylinder crawlers.
