Wanted: #62 Blade assembly

Post by Josh » Sat Dec 18, 2010 7:31 pm

I think I might have posted in the wrong section before, however I'm sure that most people have already saw this, however I will try over here. I still am interested in the complete #62 blade assembly to fit a 420 crawler. I saw that crawler haven has several available for sale however there is no phone number listed. I have emailed them 3 times and either they dont check messages or they dont update their website and dont have them anymore and wont email back to tell me they dont have them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If you are talking about CrawlerHeavene in upstate NY, you have to be patient with Ed. I'm not sure of the current status of his business, but he has always been difficult to reach or get a response from, in my experience.

Have you tried Zimmerman Tractor in Versailles, MO or Robertson Tractor in Ohio? Both of those would be much closer to you than upstate NY.

Yeah I went through the archives and found out about his illness and alot of people said they have had nothing but problems trying to get a hold of him and order parts. Sounds like he needs to give it up or hire some more help. His "illness" has been going on for years. At least remove the web site or make a note on it that he doesnt want your buisness.

Just few comments on Ed.
If he quits, how does he pay his bills?
He has tried to hire help repeatedly, no one wants to work.
Cancer tends to last for years, if you have a magic cure, I am sure he would love to hear about it.

"ILLNESS"

Post by sean » Wed Dec 22, 2010 6:57 pm

AS FAR AS USING QUOTATIONS AROUND ILLNESS, ED IS VERY SICK, THE CANCER IS IN HIS LIVER NOW, FROM HIS COLON, HE SPENT A HELL OF A SUMMER GOING THROUGH CHEMO, SO SEARCH AWAY IN YOUR ARCHIVES, IM SURE ED IS A LITTLE PREOCCUPIED TRYING TO STAY ALIVE, AND A LITTLE LESS ABOUT A PART FOR A DANG CRAWLER.

I would bet the possibilty of returning to running his business keeps him going, these olds need someting to look forward to.

Funny thing about selling parts, people think bad of you if you aren't there to kiss there arse.

I went to look at a 350C widepad dozer with a hoe this summer at a farm auction and ran into the owner. He had a severe dislike for my dad as we didn't answer the phone to sell him a widepad outer drive assembly and axle and he had to spend $3,500 at deere to get the parts. Had to tell him that we will sell deere parts and had the parts in stock, but we don't sell the widepad specific parts as we keep them on the shelf for our two machines. He then ran me out of his yard, so i didn't go and bid his cat up at the auction.

Everyone I have met and dealt with runs their business a little different. Some are very open and accomodating, others tend to be sly like a fox. Still others sell at reasonable prices and make a decent profit. Then you have the ones that seems to think that money is here on Earth only for them.
A person being in the tractor parts business, having access and knowledge to the parts, does not always mean that he is a good business person that will be fair and make good long term decisions.
I am lucky that I have located enough fair and honest sellers that I do not have to patronize the rest of them.

I am not trying to put the guy down or down play the fact that he has cancer. I recently had an uncle that died 3 months after he found out that he had it. My point is if he has a buisness then he should either run it like a buisness should be run or quit. It is just like any other job, whatever it is, don't do it half a%%ed. I too have a small landscaping buisness that I own and operate. I always return phone calls whether or not I can help the customer. Of course that is not how all things are done anymore. To the point of not him not being able to pay his bills, how is he supposed to if he doesn't even answer any questions? And if he is indeed in such bad shape then let other people know that his buisness is NOT the most important thing right now, either by his web page or by simply returning emails.
