I have one
That is stil mounted on a running 420 that i would sell.
I am however located in Edmonton, Alberta and the price would be $2,500 cold hard canadian dollars. Includes all the mounting brackets and hard to find original deere winch control valve.
These are getting very hard to find, especially in 100% complete and working condition.
I would take $8,000 for the entire 420. It is nice and original condition with an deere outside mount factory dozer, factory hydraulics. Would need some tin and fender work if you were locking for a restoration project. On the downside the rails are very poor.
I have raised my selling prices on crawlers considerably in the past few years. It does soound like there are alot available south of the border at very reasonable prices. We have not even come accross any green deere crawlers for sale locally for many years. In the late 80's and early 90's we grew our own fleet of keepers and probably wrecked a dozer green crawlers during that time. We do sell some parts locally as there are not many tractor wreckers that wrecked crawlers.

gearmatic 8a winch
jason, thanks for taking the time to reply! i kinda thought they would be scarce and pricey. now i have to decide whether i want to go with a gearmatic or an electric truck-type utility winch (my crawler is already 12 volt). i'll save your info. thank you! randy from michigan

gearmatic 8a vs. electric winch
thanks tigerhaze for leading me to those threads! very informative! i think a good alternator would supply enough current to run the winch but all those amps would make way too much heat for my intended use. so i think electric winch is out of the picture. the hydraulic type may hold promise but i'll need to do some homework. there literature says they need 3.5 gal/min at 1500 psi and are rated for continuous duty. does anyone reading this thread have any experience with hydraulic winches? i believe those hydraulic fluid requirements are well within the capabilities of a 40c. any thoughts out there? thanks tigerhaze and all who contributed to those earlier posts! randy from michigan
