WTB JD 420C loader attachment

Post by JD Tim » Sat Mar 10, 2012 6:36 am

I'm looking for a complete loader attachment for a 1956 420C, 4 roller. I'm in southwest PA. Let me know what you have. Thanks Tim

Loaders normally should not be used on a 4 roller crawler. One of the lighter duty aftermarket loaders will work, but a factory loader will pretty much tip a 4 roller on its nose, especially a standard idler crawler.

Lavoy, so it would be a better idea to put one on the 420 5 roller that I just picked up? Its the one that I talked to
you about earlier in the week. what if I counterweighted it? Or would that be to hard on the undercarriage? And how can you tell the idler difference? Thanks Tim

Hi Tim,
I have a Complete Loader assembly for a 420C 5 roller machine. It is in pretty good shape, nothing in butchered or bent or welded in any place that I can see. The bucket will need some patch work on the bottom corners but nothing major. All the cylinders are there, I believe they all should work. I can get pictures to you if you would like pictures.

I am located in Long Island, NY if you are interested.

Give me a call at 631 806 1181.

Thanks

Yes, by all means put it on the 5 roller. Deere never offered a loader on a 4 roller, but some of the aftermarket loaders are seen on 4 rollers. It will depend on the aftermarket loader as well. Some will lift as much or more than the Deere #90, some probably only half. One of the lighter loaders would probably work on a 4 roller with counterweights, but would still need full size front idler. Seems to me full size front idler is about 19" across the flanges.
