450 loader control linkage

Post by speedbear » Fri Jul 10, 2015 9:59 pm

I'm looking for parts or a complete setup for the control linkage on my 450 loader. I had to make my own for my 350, but I was hoping the 450 parts might be available.

Can you recommend a dealer? I went to the local JD dealer near Pgh, PA & they looked at me like I had two heads!! The counter man never heard of a
450 loader.

Hi,

Was that a Green dealer, perchance?

You have to go to a Yellow dealer. And, I cannot imagine a Yellow dealer not knowing the 450 number given they still sell them. What is it up to now? J?

Well, maybe not. They changed the number of the loader equipped 450 to 455 quite a while ago. Around D, I think.

Now, a green dealer, those I can see not knowing what a JD450 is. Of any revision letter.... :P

Around here the green dealers will not even admit that there is a yellow dealer little on have parts for one other than corn head grease.

I tore the linkage apart today & I might be able to repair everything just by
reaming out all the worn holes & using larger pins. I am not the greatest
machinist, but I think it is doable.
