What do I need to know before getting seal kits for these cylinders? 1956 420C with Model 62 blade.

The kits have gone obsolete, but a good hyd shop will likely have what you need on hand. Only catch might be the leather cups, I think I have them on hand. Take the cylinders apart, and take all the pieces to a hyd shop and they should be able to match them up.

One way or the other, we will get it figured out. If you have no one there that you trust, I will start digging on this end and see what I can put together.

Thanks, Lavoy.

I have some leads, if they don't pan out I'll get back to you.

FWIW, I got all the parts for my 420 cylinder through a Deere construction dealer. I had to get the bulldozer blade parts sheets and that was all it took. Once I had the parts fro one cylinder (for $100.00 plus!!!) I took it all to a local hyd shop and he matched up enough stuff for the 2nd cylinder.

Spent a little time on the phone with one of my suppliers this week discussing this exact problem. Sounds like they will work with me to develop kits for the cylinders. I have to have the cylinder in question apart and at my place, but once done, they will keep the pertinent info in my file for future reference. Every time I do a different cylinder, now, will start building the database.
The first thing I am going to work on it stocking the leather cups for the rams. Just got in some for the hyd adjusters, working on them this week.
