jd440ic for sale..SOLD

Post by dtoots1 » Sun Mar 21, 2021 10:07 am

  Here it is...my jd440ic is up for sale...has 64 - 6 way blade, lift cylinders have new seals and cups, left steering new clutch and brake band t/o bearing etc..replaced, rebuilt water pump and hydraulic pump all from Lavoy, rad tested and cleaned. see posts and pics are in pic server and in several posts..has not been painted as has been my working horse

i also have donor engine out of front loader and reverser that snaps very sharply...some point in time dozer reverser will need to either be rebuilt or replaced as it pops out of reverse...i just use tranny reverse. Also has i think a light forestry type rops?

am asking $6500 for all.

Have manuals for dozer and 64 blade and jd7gauge.

sorry about late response..been busy.

overall condition is good...unit was completely gone thru and parts replaced as needed per prior owner...both tracks have 36 shoes. lift cylinders have been gone thru and sealed and cups replaced..left steering gone thru as brake band broke and all new clutches and throwout installed..hydraulic valve tested and new 1050 psi pressure relief installed....hydraulic pump and water pump rebuilt from Lavoy..owner of this site and all replacement parts purchased from him...new 6 blade fan also from Lavoy radiator tested and repaired as original fan blew a blade. is set up for 12 volt system and has no problem starting...starter is still 6 volt..but can get that changed over here locally...also have donor reverser and engine for the old girl from previous owner...
the reverser in it wants to pop out of reverse and when teardown can replace or rebuild...it may have more adjustment but is a bit awkward to get to adjustment.

hour meter does work..believe it had 276 hours on it when i bought it...it now has something like 476 on it....

there are pics in my posts as well as in the pic server which you can see thru the instructions..even if you do not have a login for the pic server.
In the instructions for "dedicated PicServer" you will also find my cell number where you can text me...that info is in the Q&A forum.. only visible when you are logged in to the crawler site.

EDIT 4/30/21..one other note...the machine weight as is...is just a bit over 8000lbs and i can haul it easily with my 1/2 ton pickup locally on tagalong...would prefer gooseneck for long distance...

as shown i am near Akron, Ohio

where are you located?

Just a bit of additional info on accessing pics..

1...at bottom of board index is Q&A forum, in that is the post for "Instructions for Pic Server"....anyone that is registered for jd crawler site can access and view photos.,, click on http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/ , which opens you to the pic server..you will see several groups of different machines or parts, when pictures are posted you can see a small copy shown, just click on that to view.

for example...the first thing listed is jd440ic group...you can click on that and it opens several sections relatingtothe jd440, examples are blade, engine and dozer, furthermore scroll down to the bottom of the first original page that opened and you will see posted"general" pics of other machines....also on the right hand side of the screen it shows the number of albums and pics in that group with activity

Just a followup on having sold my dozer...Wow it sure is missed!!..That certainly is the easiest tool to use when backfilling a hundred foot drainage ditch! Try using a front loader to do that...it sure is different. Farm tractor types are much harder to control since speed and power are so much different..torque and traction make quite a difference!!...dozer is much more precise!

Hi,

I hardly ever use my crawlers. I sold the 350C to a friend last August. Haven't used the 420c since I got the 350C. I still haven't used the 420c since selling the 350C. I really ought to pass that one along as well. I fear that as soon as I do, I will really need it. Sigh.

And I'm beginning to wonder what will become of it once I am gone. Kids, both girls, don't care a whit. Grandkids don't either. Sigh again.
