440 sold at auction

Post by whiteclipse16 » Fri Apr 01, 2022 6:55 pm

I'm still in shock at what this dozer brought at an auction today.
I didn't see the dozer, only the auction listing and sell price.
From pics it was a newer model due to the center throttle in the dash. Had the diesel with power 6 way blade and reverser.
Tracks looked shot, grousers were really worn, one upper idler was worn smaller than the outer cap. Sprockets looked good actually.
Sale price is listed as $21,750.
I took a screenshot of the final sale. Not sure if you still have to use a third party to post photos on here or not.

That sounds like a very proud price.

Something seems odd, takes 2 bidders to get it that high.

I have been to chalkers auction. In fact i bought a 440 gas with straight blade for 1200.. 15 years ago. I stopped going there because of mole bidders running the price up . I suspect that is what happened with that 440.. chalkers is in cahoots with mulgrew.
