Hello guys,
Thanks for adding me to the group. I am in search of a 440 ICD to use on my farm. Ideally I would like an intact machine with a 64 blade, reverser, three point hitch, and maybe some other options I am not aware of. I am new to crawlers so I am still learning about all the options.
I am in middle Tennessee so the closer the better, but I will travel or entertain shipping for the right machine. Also it doesn't need to be a cherry as I want to restore it myself to new condition before I proceed to wear it out again.
I primarily intend to use this crawler for leveling and tilling ground to plant pasture for my cows. My farm is mostly hills so this is a safer option than a wheeled tractor. I will also be looking for implements as the project progresses.
I would appreciate any suggestions that current owners and rebuilders have as to what to look out for when shopping for a crawler, options and implements.
Thank you,
John

Hey John! It's great to hear about your farming project and your search for an ICD 440 crawler. It's awesome that you're looking to restore it yourself and get hands-on with the process. When shopping for a crawler, be sure to thoroughly inspect the engine, tracks, and hydraulics for any signs of wear or damage. Since you'll be using it on hills, pay extra attention to the brakes and transmission for safety. As for implements, consider starting with a good set of cultivators and rollers for your pasture planting needs. Do you have any specific restoration tips or challenges you're facing that you'd like to discuss?

Re: Wanted: ISO 440 ICD
Hello Nick!
Thanks for your reply. Fortunately I have the tools, equipment and space to take on this project. I have read many of the forum posts and see many of the issues and upgrades that others are doing and this is most helpful. The primary challenge I am having is finding one that suits that is well priced for the condition.
Thanks for the tips for implements. My ultimate goal is to have a golf course for my cows and a roller harrow would provide the perfect tool for that. Has anyone done PTO driven mowers off these machines? That would be something helpful also.
Thanks again for your reply!

64 blade and 3PT will be hard to find singly, let alone on the same crawler. Either one can be added later if you find them. Good luck on the search.
