1010 oil filter

Post by olrobk » Mon Apr 30, 2007 10:41 am

Some strong-arm mashed the dome-shaped cover over the old cartridge type oil filter. A new one from Deere is $210 !!! This is just THE COVER, bolt, copper washer and filter support washer. !!! Do you have stuff like that?

How about a spin on adapter?

I have not heard of an adapter, I think the housing from a later 1010 will bolt on, then you can use a spin on.

A local 1010 expert told me the spin-on adapter from Deere is $375 - typical - and the after-market is $175, which sounds bad enough to me. I happen to have inherited a bunch of cartridge filters so I'm okay for now.

Do you mean you don't have a nice dome-topped can around? That's all I would like since mine is schmushed.

Thanks for your help Lavoy, Rob

If it is the same as the two cylinders, I should have one.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure that the 1010 used the same oil filter dome as the M, 40, 420, etc...
