420 crawler with 3PT hitch for sale

Post by Lavoy » Thu Nov 03, 2005 9:53 pm

For Sale: All green 420, serial number 81,xxx. 4 roller, standard front idler, new pins and bushings, good rails, rollers good but some seals leaking, front idlers good, looks like a seal leaking on one of them. Crawler is narrowed up to 36" centers on 10" pads, has single hydraulics. Fenders are good shape, hood has been cut around muffler, grille has some bronzing on it, but is a nice grille. Has front bumper attachment.
Factory 3PT hitch, no toplink or sway chains. It will have new adjustable links, draft arms will not be correct, but are John Deere arms, just won't telescope.
Engine appears to be recently overhauled, but one cylinder was stuck, so I have the head off now. It is currently .045 over, will have new rings installed with new gaskets.
If the crawler does not sell, I may separate the 3PT and the crawler at a later date.
I have not looked at the final drives, but I will when I finish the engine.
Contact me if interested or for more info.

I forgot to mention that the crossbars have been cut off, but I have another set that can go with if the buyer wants them.

Hi,

Let me know at some point if you do want to sell the 3-pt on it's own. I'd love to add one to my 420, mainly to hang a bush hog onto. I grow tired of worrying about tires on tractors when I can't see what's in these old fields in this new place we bought a year ago.

I've looked around the local tractor graveyards and there aren't many crawlers at all, much less ones with a 3-pt on them.

Stan,
Keep in touch, I will think about it. I get way more requests for 3PT's than I will ever have 3PT's to sell. Used to be at one time I would get a hitch once a year, now it is like every other year. It can't be that they are getting more scarce, I think that more and mroe people want one eiter for show or use. I know from my own experience, a crawler with a hitch is sure handy.

In addition to new rings, it will have new pistons and rod bearings as well. Should be running by this weekend.
