1010 parts forsale

Post by fixedforever » Sun Apr 25, 2010 8:55 pm

I just got this John Deere 1010 loader, the previous owner said that the diesel engine seized up 20 years ago so it does not look like it is worth fixing, so the parts are for sale. It's located in Saugerties, NY.

I am looking for at least 4 rollers and upper rollers if they are in good shape. would be interested in the chain but it looks like a 4 roller? also the seat mech. Does it turn backwards, been looking for one to use my backhoe.

You should but the ripper on your crawler?

located in binghamton ny, and it isn't that far of a trip..

Hi,

That's a scarifier, used for busting the crust on dirt roads. Many times they're called a ripper. A true ripper is one huge tooth used for ripping into the cracks in rock. A scarifier has several (usually five on these machines) smaller toothed shanks in them.

I don't see any of the toothed shanks in it, so that means it's just a big, heavy, flat bar that goes up and down with hydraulics. One could happily use that for lifting one end of a tree trunk and use it as a makeshift log arch.

Post a shot of the back of the thing. I'd like a better look at that part. ;)

Later!

Stan
