Okay, I got in the new M/40 manifolds, and lo and behold they were 420 manifolds. Man I hate suppliers that don't knwo their product. Anyway, looks like now I will be having a special on 420 manifolds, $90 + freight.

If the 420's and 430's are virtualy the same why can't I run a 420 intake /exhaust(always cheaper) manifold as opposed to the 430 manifold?

You can, but you will have to torch the hood to get the exhaust pipe through. 420 and 430 use different manifolds.
