Carb Parts

Post by 1st440crawler » Sat Apr 02, 2011 4:38 pm

Hi Lavoy,
It has been a while since I posted on here. I am looking for a carb kit for the 440 Crawler. Wondering if the throttle shaft comes with the kit ? I know I need the kit and a throttle plate. Are there bushings for the throttle shaft? My throttle shaft seems very loose. Also is there a seal on the lever end of the shaft. Thank You

Buck

Buck,
I normally have the kits on hand, yes they include the throttle shaft. I don't think I have any of the seals on hand, they are not in the kit.
No bushings, typically the carb body does not wear.

I saw in a parts manual that they called the seal a felt packing then there was a retainer outside of it. Do you have a Throttle plate for this carb ? Mine is missing I think they took it out for another carb

I might have a used throttle plate, I think new ones are available.
Yes, there is a retainer on the outside. A piece of felt comes with the kits, but it is for the choke shaft. The seal on the throttle shaft would remind you of a hyd cylinder o-ring for the piston.
