Post by carolina crawler » Wed May 30, 2012 2:29 pm

putting new rails and pads on the 350 but the front idlers are too worn to use, the center of the wheel is making contact with the bushings on the new rails, so does anyone have any used items, can do a trade for 440 rear sprockets or some other 440 nos stuff, also have my old set of rails off the 350, need to have new bushings and pins though, or cash.....just seeing if anyone can help..........thanks, located in ga......Mark 404-579-7760.

Hi !

I f you can't find front idler and you afre not using the dozer for a living
I had my front idler external center reduce by plasma cutting and it work just fine as it does not touch the bushing anymore , I still want to buy new idler soon in case but at least I can use the dozer .

350 front idlers

Post by doc40c » Wed Jul 04, 2012 9:53 am

Hi Carolina, what I did on my front idlers was to build up the inner and outer flat areas with flat stock. Use 3/16 or what ever thickness you feel you need. Just lay it on the flat and tack weld and keep hammering and tackiing all the way around, then finish weld to complete the job. Good luck on your project! Randy from Michigan.
