Lavoy, one of my front idlers has side to side and diagonal slop (wobble?). When I tear into it (key word here is when) and if I find I need an axle I'll let you know. For obvious reasons I hope I don't!

If it has much side to side, it could have broken off the bolts holding the thrust plate. Probably better look at it sooner than later.
