Two 450 Crawlers at Auction in Kansas/Missouri on April 5

Post by Tigerhaze » Wed Apr 02, 2014 12:04 pm

Good afternoon-

I found two 450 crawlers at auction this Saturday in Kansas/Missouri; I have no personal knowledge of either of them but thought I would post for those looking. There are photos of each on the auctioneer's websites which can be found with a Google search or auction location websites.

I may be going to the second auction so may report back the auction price for the 450 crawler loader.

450 Crawler Dozer

the auctioneer is Voorheis Auction and Realty and the auction is located near Fayette, MO (in the middle of the state). The 450 crawler is advertised as a 450C but you know how that goes. The description provided by auctioneer is as follows:

John Deere 450C dsl. dozer w/6 way hyd. 7’ blade, roll canopy, 6’ ripper, had recent $10,000 eng. overhaul

450 Crawler Loader

The auctioneer is Marty Read Auctions and the auction is located near Mound City, KS (about 1 hour south of Kansas City near the KS/MO state line). The description provided by auctioneer is as follows:

JD TRACK LOADER
John Deere 450 BA with model 33 wench
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment

Well, I did go to the auction in Kansas. The 450B with the "wench" went for $3600. :o

It about made me sick to not bid on it as it had a really nice Berco aftermarket undercarriage but I am spread pretty thin financially right now and already have a number of project crawlers. They couldn't start it at time of auction (due to supposedly dead batteries) so would be a bit of a gamble but they had moved it from another part of the property so presumably it ran OK.

Anyhow it goes to show that you never know as I was pretty sure it would go for $6K or higher given the nice undercarriage.
