Wanted: 440icd single hydraulic valve parts

Post by whiteclipse16 » Sun Apr 20, 2014 5:51 am

Lavoy or anyone else.
I tore my control valve apart yesterday to fix the seal that was leaking and found the relief spring in about 4 pieces. Jdparts says it's not available.
Does anyone have a new spring? Lavoy would you happen to have a seal rebuild kit? Most of the seals i can get thru jd but thought a good kit would be nice.

O-rings and washer are good numbers, but I don't have them on hand. Spring I struck out on so far, sorry.

Thanks Lavoy, I'll search around for a spring. I know a guy that has a ton of old equipment, I think he might have an equivalent.

Well, the spring has so far been impossible to find. I was able to find one that was very similar in strength but pretty short, so I doubled them up. It should function normally.
The copper washer number was superceded by a new number from Deere and the new thing definitely isn't a copper washer.
All in all, the 2 o-rings were the only correct thing. I got it all back together last night, just have to get it back on the dozer. Hopefully it won't leak and I'll have some up and down pressure now.

How hard are the cylinder seals to come by?

I might have seals on hand, but normally not difficult at all.
